Risk and Resilience ¶

Contents ¶
We develop basic principles and software tools for risk assessment and for evaluating the effectiveness and economic efficiency of permanent and temporary protective measures against alpine natural hazards. The analysis and visualisation of temporal and spatial changes in risks as a result of climate change and socio-economic change as a basis for an effective risk communication and risk management form another focus of our work. The aim of our research is to strengthen society and thus increase its resilience to the impacts of alpine natural hazards.
We put our findings into practice, participate in the training of natural hazard experts as well as young scientists and maintain a lively national and international exchange.
The topics of risk management, risk communication and resilience are focal points of the research centre CERC.
